Shannon Renée began playing piano as a young child. Her love her piano has continued to this day as she writes her own music and plays some keyboard for Cut Elements. Growing up she was also a dancer and singer, attending the Orange County High School of the Arts in the commercial dance department. She started playing guitar and drums in her early 20’s and began singing/songwriting for the bands splinterVenus and Unrule. She has also been featured on two albums for Fanticide. Now she sings, plays rhythm guitar, and keyboard in Cut Elements. She and Jaime are also the co-owners/producers of the music production company Planet Mischief.
Frank started playing guitar in 6th grade, playing lead trumpet alongside Jaime in the Belmont High School band as well as the Verdugo Hills High School band. He has also played in the bands Ascension, Don Diablo's Sideshow, MDJs and now Cut Elements as the lead guitarist. With a love for many styles, Frank has played Latin rock, classic rock, metal, hip hop, and Spanish music, and has even been involved in some film scoring. As a father and music teacher, Frank has passed his talents onto his two younger children whom he currently teaches music to.
Jaime Morales, drummer and founder of Cut Elements, began playing trumpet in 6th grade and drums in 9th grade. While attending Belmont High School and Verdugo Hills High School, he met fellow musician and band mate Frank Lima playing trumpet in the school band. Jaime has played drums in bands Ascension, Don Diablo’s Sideshow (also on percussion and vocals), MDJs and Dina Gathe. He currently drums in the cover band Septic Shock and also drums for Andrew Starry and Kavan. While creating loops and sequences to be used during live performances with the band MDJs, it spawned what became the beginning of Planet Mischief, a music production company now co-owned and operated by him and Cut Elements singer, Shannon Renée.
Marcelo is a versatile bassist that has put time in as a professional musician since his high school days playing both in Mexico and in Los Angeles. Influenced by such bass playing greats as Jaco Pastorius and Victor Wooten among others he has defined his own sound that fits in perfectly in any situation. From Latin music to Hard and Heavy Rock n Roll, Marcelo brings monster chops and creativity to the table.
Why not have two drummers in one band? Art has played with the bands Mitosis, Splinter Venus and Fire in the hole. Aside from lending his time and talent to Cut Elements, he spends his off time drumming for Grudge Fuck, Cut Elements' alter ego.
